New ClickandBuy(R) Alliance Establishes Online Payment Network Offering Major Consumer Benefits


Swisscom is Latest Addition to Consortium that Gives Consumers Easier Online Purchasing

NEW YORK, March 15 /PRNewswire/ – Webpay International, one of Europe's leader in value added billing services, today announced the launch of the global ClickandBuy® Alliance, a network of partner enterprises offering ClickandBuy, Webpay's secure online payment service that gives consumers easier access to premium online content and goods.

The ClickandBuy Alliance allows member enterprises to leverage their use of the ClickandBuy solution to connect and pool their customer bases and web merchant relationships. The benefit for consumers is one-stop registration and enhanced online purchasing freedom at all of the Alliance's three thousand (and growing) participating merchants. The Alliance began with British Telecom's ClickandBuy from BT business, ClickandBuy from FIRSTGATE and ClickandBuy from Webpay US. The Alliance now has more than three million active customers.

The deal means that Swisscom customers can register with ClickandBuy and designate either their Swisscom phone bill or any credit card as their method of payment.
